Terms of Service

Effective Date: May 8th 2025

Welcome to Abilene Home Service! These Terms of Service govern our agreement with you when you enroll in lawn care or fertilization services. By signing up for any plan or scheduling a one-time service, you agree to the following terms.


1. Scope of Work

Mowing Services

Each lawn care visit includes:

  • Mowing

  • Trimming/weed eating

  • Blowing off walkways, patios, and driveways

Bagging of clippings is not included by default. If you request clippings to be bagged and removed, a $5 per service fee applies.

Fertilization & Hydration Plan

This optional add-on includes:

  • Fertilizer applications in June, July, August, and October

  • Hydretain application in July to support water retention in your lawn


2. Seasonal Lawn Mowing Plan

  • Plan includes:

    • 4 services in June

    • 4 services in July

    • 2 services per month in August, September, and October

    • 1 final service during the first half of November

  • Customers may not skip scheduled services

  • Services cannot be removed from the plan, but additional visits may be added (at the quoted rate) during August–October

Pricing

  • First mowing service is $1 with enrollment

  • All remaining services are billed at the rate quoted during sign-up

  • If a customer cancels the Seasonal Plan before completion, the first $1 mow will be retroactively charged at the full standard rate for the property size


3. One-Time Mowing Services

One-time services include the same scope of work (mowing, trimming, blowing) and are billed at the standard quoted rate. These do not qualify for the $1 first-mow promotion.


4. Scheduling & Access

  • Services are scheduled based on optimized routes, weather conditions, and availability

  • Customers must ensure access to the yard, including:

    • Unlocked gates

    • Pets secured

    • Removal of major obstacles (toys, cords, hoses, furniture)

  • Missed services due to locked gates, unsafe animals, or blocked access may still be billed as a completed visit


5. Weather Delays

If inclement weather (e.g., rain or lightning) prevents service, it will be rescheduled as soon as conditions allow. Customers will be notified of reschedules via text or email.


6. Property Conditions & Customer Responsibilities

  • Yards must be reasonably maintained and free of debris before service

  • Excessive overgrowth or trash may result in additional charges or refusal of service

  • We are not responsible for damage caused by items hidden in tall grass or cluttered areas


7. Property Damage Policy

  • While we take great care, damage can occur. We are not responsible for:

    • Pre-existing damage (e.g., sprinkler heads, cracked borders)

    • Damage to items left in the yard (toys, cords, lights, decorations)

  • Any property damage must be reported within 24 hours of the service, with supporting photos. Reports received after 24 hours may not be honored


8. Billing & Payment

  • All payments must be made online using any major credit or debit card

  • We do not accept cash or checks

  • All payment processing is handled securely via a third-party provider (Stripe). Abilene Home Service does not store or have access to your card details

  • Invoices are typically sent after each service unless on a prepayment plan


9. Plan Cancellations & Refunds

  • Customers may cancel at any time for both the Seasonal Plan and the Fertilization Plan

  • However, if canceled before the end of the plan, the $1 promotional mow will be retroactively billed at the full standard rate

  • No refunds will be issued for services already completed


10. Liability & Insurance

  • Abilene Home Service is fully insured for general liability

  • We are not liable for:

    • Incidental or indirect damages from delayed or missed services

    • Issues caused by failure to prepare the yard for service (e.g., pet waste, blocked access)

    • Environmental damage beyond our control


11. Changes to Terms

We may update these terms at any time. Customers will be notified of updates via email or our website. Continued service constitutes acceptance of updated terms.
